    Hi,

    I purchased the sayidan theme and I’m having issues when activating the child theme. The phone and mail icons are not recognized due to wrong path and also the text color and some page formatting are not the same with the parent theme. The version I have is 1.6.7.

    Do you have any suggestions on how to fix it? I have attached screenshots for your reference.

    Under Customizer > Custom CSS can you add the following code:

    .top-nav ul li a .mail-icon {
        background: url(https://sjialumniassociation.org/wp-content/themes/sayidan/css/icons/mail-icon.png) no-repeat;
    }

    .top-nav ul li a .phone-icon {
        background: url(https://sjialumniassociation.org/wp-content/themes/sayidan/css/icons/phone-icon.png) no-repeat;
    }

    Thank you. The suggested css worked. However, it does not address the underlying issue where it seems the css folder under the parent theme is not properly being accessed as the child theme does not have the same formatting and also text color than the parent theme. Please see attached screenshots of the parent theme and the child theme.

    Also, does this mean that I have to do all the above stylesheet to all the other icons referred in the parent style.css?

    Hi,

    I got it to work by changing the get_stylesheet_uri() to get_template_directory_uri() in the setup.php in the parent theme.

    //wp_enqueue_style( ‘sayidan-style’, get_stylesheet_uri(), array(), $version, ‘all’);

    wp_enqueue_style( ‘sayidan-style’, get_template_directory_uri() .’/style.css’, array(), $version, ‘all’);

    And commented the code below in functions.php in child theme.
    wp_enqueue_style( ‘sayidan-style’, get_template_directory_uri().’/style.css’, array(), $version, ‘all’);

    This solved the issue without making the css changes below:
    .top-nav ul li a .mail-icon {
    background: url(https://sjialumniassociation.org/wp-content/themes/sayidan/css/icons/mail-icon.png) no-repeat;
    }

    .top-nav ul li a .phone-icon {
    background: url(https://sjialumniassociation.org/wp-content/themes/sayidan/css/icons/phone-icon.png) no-repeat;
    }

    Thank you!
